Amélie Bouvier

Amélie Bouvier (b. 1982, France) lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. Her practice focuses on scientific imagery and discoveries, as well as the lacunae in knowledge and
how we fill them through popular imagination, anecdotes, and other fictions. Working primarily with astronomy, Bouvier’s laborious drawings examine the myths we create around scientific data and discovery. She has had several noteworthy exhibitions including those at The Arsenal Gallery (Bialystok, PL), Aomori Contemporary Art Center (Aomori, JP), Sesc Ipiranga (São Paulo, BR), Museo Patio Herreriano (Valladolid, ES), Sabrina Amrani Gallery (Madrid, ES), the Verbeke Foundation (Kemzeke, BE) and Museu Da Cidade (Lisbon, PT). Her work has been included in the 16th Cerveira International Art Biennial (PT) and she is the winner of the 2016 Hors-d’oeuvre prize, awarded by ISELP (Brussels, BE). In addition to her personal work, Amélie is co-founder of Uncertainty Scenarios, a project hosted by Enough Room for Space.
