Annabelle Guetatra

Annabelle Guetatra (b. 1985 in France, lives and works in Beersel) creates strong figurative artwork, personal and oneiric, sensitive and fierce at the same time. Her drawings explore how desire crawls, perfuses and animates bodies, pushing them into impossible coupling, deforming them into pointless masquerades. She mostly works on paper, through drawing, collage, etching, artist books, fanzines, and even papier maché sculptures (which led her to ceramics lately). Always in search of new mediums, she experiments continuously: with watercolor, pencil, ink, by integrating collage, all in transparency, or on the contrary by applying engraving ink, very black, thus offering contrasts of texture, of fineness of line, of depth …

She graduated from ENSAV La Cambre in 2010 and started her collaboration with Galerie DYS back then.
