Dries Segers: 'Études Australes (4)' (2019)

Coloured photograms by Dries Segers. For these photograms (photographs made without the use of a photo camera), Dries started from sheet-music of John Cage. Cage copied the stars of the galaxy on transparencies, then covered his ensemble staves with it. Through this act music was set. Dries Segers did it the other way round: he started from accidental sheet-music and copied it again on transparencies, which he then used to make photograms.
