Whitehouse Gallery
Groot Park 2, 3360 Lovenjoel, Belgium
Whitehouse Gallery is established in May 2014. It is situated in a beautiful rural setting just a short distance from the historic city of Leuven. The tranquil location and traditional architecture – a restored 18th-century villa, the building encircled by an historic 11-hectare arboretum – foster a dialogue between past and present, nature and culture, the local and global, and time and space. The site-specific approach gives rise to a unique experience for visitors and artists alike.
The expansion of the gallery in September 2017 has resulted in the opening of a new 120 m2 project space in an adjacent building on the site. Twice a year, a curator is invited to select an international artist to exhibit in this resolutely contemporary setting. Given free rein to create a project, their work is presented in tandem with the programme in the main gallery. In September 2018, we also incorporated the 350 m2 gym of this sports hall into the gallery.
